Winter Series Final 2014

The Final day of the Winter Series has arrived and from the collection of competitors gathering early in the car park it seemed clear that all were all ready to give the final 12 stands in Mill Hill for 2014 a good run for their money. The early squads of the day had a mix of weather as day light got hard to brake through and it was quite gusty at times and in turn making some of the targets a little testing at times. In the early part of the day Nigel Dowdall returned a credible 87 and he held the top spot for most of the day until Mill Hill regular Paddy Hartnett also carded an 87 to join him. Having had a good stream of competitors through the club house by 11am it was turning into another busy day on the Hill.
The weather continued to throw up a mix all day from lovely sunshine to very heavy rain showers but we all had something different to deal with at some point over the 12 stands. One stand in particular stood out as a talking point over the day with its two big targets from the boom lift on stand 7 but at the same time anyone they had a kill or two and seemed pleased with themselves. The course had seemed to shoot hard but looking over the final totals of the day 22 of them were 80 plus and 56 in the seventies, so all in all it had a fair mix of targets.
As the final few squads returned back to the club house the 87’s of Paddy and Nigel were moved down a spot and Aidan Fogarty filled the space with his outstanding 91 and that was the mark for the day. 130 took part in today’s Final round and all in all it ran very smoothly once again thanks to the lads in the office and on the ground.
At the Days end all the totals for the league been calculated and all prize winner were allocated their respective placing’s Aidan Fogarty came out on top as the Series over all high gun and a huge well done to him and all the class winners (Full List Below).
Finally a big thanks to all the club members that turned out for today’s Christmas shoot and hope you enjoyed the day and a big well done to Nigel Dowdall who won the Gerry Reilly Memorial Cup which is awarded to the highest finishing club member on the day. Full List of Club members winners is also listed below.

Wishing you all a Happy and safe Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
