Winter Series 2015

The Mill Hill Clay Pigeon Shooting Club is pleased to announce its 2015 Winter Series. This series will consist of three shoots with a competitor’s best two scores to count towards a final total. Each round will be 100 Bird English sporting over 12 stands. The Prize pot total will be accumulated over each week and hopefully going as far as 6th place in some classes. There will also be separate additional prizes for Mill Hill club members within the series.

The First Winter series we held was back in 2009 and since then there have been some changes to it but the format remains the same, and I think it’s fair to say that they have been very successful and enjoyed by many over the years.

One of the main people in establishing and running the series was Robert Cavanagh and as many of you know, Robert was one of the founding members of our club.  Expanding and improving the club for its members and for those that visited it for the many different events that were hosted in Mill Hill was top of his priority list. Sadly Robert left us in 2013 and the void of his personality and ability within the club still exists today. As an acknowledgement to this gentleman, a decision has been made by the members and committee of Mill Hill to establish and award the overall high gun of the series “The Robert Cavanagh Perpetual Cup” as it was thought to be a fitting tribute to a man who worked so hard for his club and for clay shooting in general within Ireland.

There will also be “The Robert Cavanagh Shield” awarded to the High Gun within the club members section of the series.

Hope to see you all for the first round of the Series on the 25th October.
