2024 Sean McKenna Cup

Thanks to everyone who visited Mill Hill over the weekend and took part in our club’s largest annual event.
We, in the club, try to put a slightly bigger effort into running and setting up for this event each year, and it seems to show in the numbers that participate. This year, we had over 170 entries, and we hope there was something for everyone.
As it now seems to be the norm for us over the last few shoots, where we have again had a mixed bag of weather over the two days, with lovely warm sunshine and heavy showers on Saturday, and with Sunday being overcast with showers and sometimes cooler weather, but it is what it is. Thankfully, the weather on the run-up to the shoot and finishing the course layout on Friday was superb for the lad’s setting it, which makes it a lot easier for them.

After all was said and done, there can only be one winner and this year the Sean McKenna Cup is going home with Maurice Cavanagh with a super 112×120. Well done Maurice.
Ciarán Pike was second with a 111 and followed by David Breen on 109.
Within the totals, there was a total of 29 competitors that had 100 or more of the 120 targets👏.

A list of class winners will be post shortly as there are some shooters classes to be confirmed at this time.

Finally to finish up we would like to thank you all for supporting the event, Michelle and crew for keeping us all well fed, Drogheda Hire for the teleporter, the small group on the ground and in the office for keeping everything moving smoothly and most importantly Sean, John, the McKenna family and farm team for there continued support and use of their land. All this is hugely appreciated for running a successful event. 👏

Till next time,
Stay safe.
