2024 Winter Series.
Well we eventually got to the end! The winter series this time round was very mixed with weather warnings of all colours and types.
For the most part, the Sundays of the rounds were reasonably good weather wise for the bulk of the competition……. with exception of the few hard core that were out on the first 4 squad last Sunday….(possibly best not to mention 😳).
This year the series was again very well supported even with the date changes. This continued support means a huge amount to the club, as the event is very much at the core of the clubs character to have its members and visitors enjoying the targets and competition on any given day. This is what makes all the effort and time put into the courses in all forms of weather so worthwhile. And in saying that, we always tried to ensure that over the 3 courses, there was something to suit everyone.
As in previous years there was very little separating the top names in each class and they did again come down to the last round. But as we know there can be only one winner and this year it was Maurice Cavanagh… for the second time. Maurice’s best two scores had a total of 184 x 200 targets. Superb shooting.

Finally thanks to all the lads who helped with the setup of the course, working on the ground on shoot days, in the office and in the background with squad lists since last October.
Thanks to Massimo and the crew at Leinster Guns Ammo for their support and helping with some prizes in the Club members’ category.
Thanks to Michelle, Séamus and the team for keeping everyone fed and caffeinated each week.
And finally special thanks to John, Sean and the McKenna Family for their continued support use of their lands.
