100 Winter Series
Thankfully 2025/26 WS was another successful event.
As seems to be normal these days the weather had a mixed bag for the 6 days of the 3 rounds. Thankfully this didn’t affect the entries for the event. As we have was said many times in the past we are hugely appreciative of the level of support this event gets. It truly makes the effort of organising and setting up easier when we see how many turn out. Not only the shoot days suffer with the poor weather but there are any weekends where the lads on the ground are pulling and dragging traps and furniture around in very wet heavy ground which is not pleasant at times. But it is what it is and it got done!
This year we seen some superb results over the three rounds and hopefully there was something enjoyable there for everyone.
The series High Guns were,
Rd1 Gareth Warren 94 x 100
Rd 2 Nigel Dowdall 93 x 100
Rd 3 Gareth Warren 91x 100
This year years over all High Gun (185 x 200) was Gareth Warren and in fairness it was very well deserved and in turn he received the Robert Cavanagh Cup.
Warren with closely followed by our own Nigel Dowdall (184 x 200) and for his efforts he receives the Robert Cavanagh plate. This year we had prize fund of €2700 which is going to 26 winners this year. Well done folks.
Thanks to Michelle, Séamus and crew in Silverline for keeping everyone fed over the last few weeks. Thank you so much to Massimo and team at Leinster Guns Ammo for there generosity with some of their products again this year. 🙏
Massive thank you to the lad’s on the ground and in the office for the the big effort put in getting the course ready for each 100 bird alongside keeping the normal Sunday morning club stuff going on too.👍🏻
Tony, Nigel, Niall, Bernard, Derek and Adrian…. thanks lads.
And to finish as before a massive thank you to John, Sean and the McKenna Family for their continued help and support with the use of their land for this little sport of ours.
